This quote by Benjamin Franklin points out the importance of having a plan. Yes, sometimes plans don’t work out but that shouldn’t be an excuse to not have one. Having a plan helps identify your goals and structure your actions toward achieving it. A plan doesn’t have to be so long or very detailed. Just take it bit by bit and keep yourself open to accommodate delays or failures.

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, I urge you to “Break the Stigma!” surrounding those suffering from mental health. In African, people suffering with mental illnesses are disregarded and isolated from the general public. Mental health does not discriminate and it can affect anyone regardless of age, race, gender or religious beliefs. Go educate yourself about mental health and encourage others to do so. Mental health illnesses like other illnesses, need treatment.
Especially in Africa, mental health is a big part of our health care system that needs more attention. To help educate people about mental health, comment one thing everyone should know about those suffering from this illness using #BreakTheStigma.

You have to recognize that YOU are unique and it’s what makes you beautiful. There is nothing beautiful about anyone who is fake or pretending to be someone else. The more you embrace who you are, people will recognize your true beauty and confidence. Don’t focus on being perfect, focus on being YOU!

This is one of my favorite quotes that keeps me going. Do not be intimidated by those who are boastful while working on a project. All you can do is do your very best and make sure the quality of your work is exceptional. I am an introvert and it’s easy to get intimidated by those who are more outspoken than me. Over the years, I learned that, while not in all cases, the empty vessel makes the loudest noise.

As we embark on the journey of life, it is important to keep your future in mind. I was personally inspired by this quote because often times, I find myself focusing on my past mistakes and things I should have done right before now. While it is good to reflect and learn from our past mistakes, it is equally important to MOVE FORWARD. Don’t get caught up on the previous chapter, the next chapter’s got a whole lot in store for you!
