@amplifyafrica - Nigeria 🇳🇬 has a population of around 200 million people who belong to any of the 300 ethnic tribes.
@_rayyaansari As a Muslim woman, wearing hijab is not an easy journey. I started wearing my scarf when I was 10 years old. Before that my mother would have me wear it here and there, definitely for picture day all the time. Over the years I’ve had my times where I felt super confident then others where I didn’t feel pretty wearing my hijab. Something that has helped me is trying different scarf styles. One of my favorite things to do is to throw on a hat. I love hats! To me they elevate a look 💁🏾‍♀️.
@trinitysierra Dear #postpartumbody . I know that you hear more negativity than positivity these days. I know you endured and went through two pregnancies and still healed in time. I know you carried two beautiful black queens and provided them with all the nutrients they needed to survive. I know you brought them into this world even when I was fighting the contractions the entire time. I know that you get covered up because it’s easier to “look” great than it is to feel great but I want you to know that you are loved and cherished even if I don’t take time to appreciate you often. I don’t know where all these insecurities came from, I am not sure if it came from having the perfect #summerbody or being #summertimefine or maybe it’s trying to appreciate you when it’s time for sex and feeling confident to be around my husband. Maybe it’s loving you because you have given me everything I need to keep going on everyday. I know you often get ridiculed for having aches, pains and even painful cramps but know that I love you and appreciate you every single day.
Campaigners are urging consumers to support #BlackoutDay2020 today. The campaign urges Black Americans to not spend any money to highlight their economic power and as a means to pressure politicians and businesses to work toward ending systemic racism. Those who need to make purchases are being encouraged to support Black-owned businesses. The initiative was spearheaded by social media personality and activist Calvin Martyr. Major companies, including Procter & Gamble and Cisco Systems, have announced support for the campaign.
Aunty @the_odditty motivating us! When @jackieaina posted her most recent video on the hate she got for having little blacker bits on her body... I saw the swarm of relatability from a lot of women who look like me... and I wanted to talk about this ⁣⁣
